Zimba
Automated Drinking Water Chlorinator
Zimba Water, Culcutta, India, 2009-2012
Product Goal: Remove and prevent reintroduction of bacterial and viral pathogens in drinking water from borehole wells in India and beyond. 40-80% of clean borehole water is recontaminated after water collection (Gundry, et al., 2006; Tamdekar, 2008)
Co-developed the Zimba automated chlorine doser with Suprio Das and others. Zimba doses liquid chlorine using differential pressures, a siphon mechanism, and no electricity. The product was independently verified to be the most effective on the market at reliably and accurately dosing chlorine into potable water from bore wells
